Privacy policy

Last updated October 16, 2026

The short version

  • This site uses cookieless analytics (PostHog) to see which pages get read. Cookies and session recordings only start if you click Accept.
  • I only get your personal information when you email me or book a call, and I use it to answer you and do the work.
  • I don't sell or share your information, and I don't send marketing email unless you ask for it.
  • You can ask me to see, correct or delete your information at any time.

Who I am

AnotherSystems is run by Ken Ruiz Inoue, an independent professional based in Mexico City, Mexico. In this policy, "I" and "me" mean Ken, and I'm responsible for your personal information. Questions and requests go to ken@anothersystems.com.

This policy covers anothersystems.com and the emails and calls that start from it. If you hire me, our written agreement can add terms for the project.

What I collect

Only what you give me, plus what any website receives to work:

  • Email. If you write to me, I get your email address, your name and whatever you include in the message.
  • Calls. If you book a call, Calendly collects your name, email address, time zone and your answers to the booking questions, and sends them to me. The call itself runs on Google Meet.
  • Projects. If you hire me, I keep your company and contact details, our agreement, invoices and payment records, and the materials you share for the work.
  • Visits. To deliver the site and protect it from abuse, my hosting and DNS providers receive your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, as with any website. Unless you decline, PostHog analytics also records which pages you view, what you click, how far you scroll and where you came from (see Cookies below).

I don't ask for sensitive personal information, such as health information or government ID numbers. Please don't send it.

How I use it

I use your information to:

  • answer your messages, schedule and hold calls, and prepare quotes and proposals
  • do the work if you hire me, send invoices, get paid and keep the records tax law requires
  • keep the site working and secure
  • understand how the site is used so I can improve it (analytics, which you can turn off)

That's all. I don't use your information for marketing or ad targeting, and I don't make automated decisions about you.

Who else handles it

A few providers process information on my behalf, only to run these services:

  • Google (Firebase Hosting, Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Meet)
  • Cloudflare (domain, DNS and email forwarding)
  • Calendly (call booking)
  • Resend (sending my email replies)
  • PostHog (site analytics, stored in the United States)

If you hire me, I may also share project and payment records with an accountant or tax advisor and with the bank or payment service that processes your payment. I disclose information to authorities only when the law requires it.

These providers may store information in the United States or other countries. I don't sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and I haven't in the last 12 months.

Cookies and similar technology

This site uses PostHog to understand how it's used: which pages people view, what they click, how far they scroll and where they came from, including the campaign tags in ad links. Text you type into fields is never collected.

Until you choose, PostHog runs without cookies or browser storage, so your visit is counted on its own and can't be linked to your next one. PostHog also receives your IP address, which it uses to estimate your approximate location.

If you click Accept, PostHog also sets a cookie to recognize your return visits for up to a year, and records your visit as a session replay: what's on screen, where you click and how you scroll, with anything you type hidden.

If you click Decline, PostHog stops right away and won't load on later visits, and any cookie from an earlier Accept is deleted. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal and you haven't made a choice, I treat it as Decline. You can change your choice any time in , also at the bottom of every page.

The site also saves small settings in your browser's local storage: the language you picked, your cookie choice and, after a Decline, PostHog's note to stay off. They stay on your device and are never sent to me.

There are no advertising trackers, such as a Meta Pixel. If I ever add one, it will only load after you click Accept, and I'll name it here first.

Calendly, GitHub, LinkedIn and Instagram set their own cookies when you visit them through my links, under their own policies.

How long I keep it

Messages and call details: up to 2 years after we last talk, unless you become a client. Client records: as long as tax and accounting law requires, usually 5 years after the last invoice. Analytics: up to 1 year in PostHog, and session recordings up to 30 days. My providers keep visit logs for their own usual periods. After that, I delete the information or make it anonymous.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask me to:

  • tell you what personal information I have about you and give you a copy
  • correct it
  • delete it
  • stop using it for a purpose, or withdraw a consent you gave

Email ken@anothersystems.com with the subject "Privacy request". To protect your information, I may ask you to confirm it's you, usually by replying from the email address I have on file. I'll answer within 20 business days. Some records, like invoices, I have to keep by law, and I'll tell you if that applies.

Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws have these rights under state law. I honor them for everyone, whether or not a given law applies to a business my size, and I won't treat you differently for using them. You can also act through an authorized agent, and I may ask for proof that they act for you.

In Mexico these are your ARCO rights (access, rectification, cancellation and opposition). If you're unhappy with my answer, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live.

Children

This site is for businesses and isn't directed to children under 13. I don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent me personal information, email me and I'll delete it.

Security

I protect your information with reasonable measures: the site only loads over HTTPS, and only I have access to the accounts that hold your information. No system is perfectly secure, so if a breach significantly affects your information, I'll tell you promptly.

Changes

If I change this policy, I'll post the new version here with a new date. If the change is significant and we're in touch, I'll also tell you directly.
